Indiecater Records has just released a compilation of indie World Cup songs called Fast Forward featuring 32 songs specially written for each of the qualifying nations.

Bands involved include Golden Ages, Burning Codes, The Ambience Affair and many others we will earnestly pretend to recognise.

Our personal fave is Dry Dry Land, the Portugal number from Tap Tap and there’s a nice touch from  the Very Most, who have called their song ‘Irlande’.

The chorus has a subtle pop at Thierry’s handiwork:

“Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity are grand,
And at this time we’d all love to give the French a hand.”
