This tragic account of George Hamilton’s airport clash of heads is also notable for the tenderness shown by Rico for George’s misfortune – in marked contrast to the outright contempt he has shown for Stephen Alkin during the first week, ever since Alkin forgot to tell him to pack a jumper on a particularly cold evening.
